Investment Objective

The Portfolio seeks to provide capital appreciation

Investment Strategy

The Portfolio invests in two Vanguard stock index funds. The percentages of the Portfolio's assets allocated to each Underlying Investments are:

Vanguard Total Stock Market Index Fund 60%
Vanguard Total International Stock Index Fund 40%

Through its ownership of the two stock funds, the Portfolio indirectly owns primarily large-capitalization U.S. stocks and, to a lesser extent, mid- and small-capitalization U.S. stocks and international stocks.

Investment Risks

Because it invests entirely in stocks, the Portfolio primarily is subject to stock market risk. The Portfolio also has a low level of foreign securities risk, index sampling risk, and derivatives risk.

The CRSP US Total Market Index replaced the MSCI US Broad Market Index (on June 3, 2013), which had replaced the Dow Jones Wilshire 5000 Index (on April 22, 2005). The FTSE Global All Cap ex US Index replaced the MSCI ACWI ex USA IMI Index (on June 3, 2013), which had replaced the MSCI EAFE + Emerging Markets Index (on December 16, 2010).

The Arkansas Brighter Future Direct Plan's Portfolios invest in: (i) mutual funds; or (ii) an FDIC-insured omnibus savings account held in trust by the Committee at Sallie Mae Bank. Except for the Savings Portfolio, investments in the Arkansas Brighter Future Direct Plan are not insured by the FDIC. Units of the Portfolios are municipal securities and the value of units will vary with market conditions.

Investment returns will vary depending upon the performance of the Arkansas Brighter Future Direct Plan Portfolios you choose.
